(GaTAPP/TFA)
The following will be required of a non-certified hire who desires to obtain a GA Educator Certificate issued by the GaPSC. All certification requirements must be completed in three years.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (2.5 GPA or higher)
- Pass the GACE Program Admission Assessment or meet exemption through GRE, SAT, or ACT scores as specified on GaPSC website
- Passing score on the GACE content assessment for area/subjects taught
- Complete the Georgia Educator Ethics Assessment – Program Entry (350) within 30 days of hire date
- Enroll in a state-approved, teacher preparation program leading to certification for which the employee has been hired

- 2. Enroll in an APS approved Alternative Certification Program (Metro RESA’s GaTAPP or Teach For America)
NOTE: Once entered into this pathway, one may not opt for the (Non-Certification) pathway due to the investment APS is making in supporting candidates in obtaining professional certificates.
