(GaTAPP/TFA)

The following will be required of a non-certified hire who desires to obtain a GA Educator Certificate issued by the GaPSC. All certification requirements must be completed in three years.

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (2.5 GPA or higher)
  • Pass the GACE Program Admission Assessment or meet exemption through GRE, SAT, or ACT scores as specified on GaPSC website
  • Passing score on the GACE content assessment for area/subjects taught
  • Complete the Georgia Educator Ethics Assessment – Program Entry (350) within 30 days of hire date
  1. Enroll in a state-approved, teacher preparation program leading to certification for which the employee has been hired

    2. 2. Enroll in an APS approved Alternative Certification Program (Metro RESA’s GaTAPP or Teach For America)

    NOTE: Once entered into this pathway, one may not opt for the (Non-Certification) pathway due to the investment APS is making in supporting candidates in obtaining professional certificates.
