New Hire Onboarding
As a new or returning employee, your APS experience is very important to us because APS students depend on all stakeholders, internal and external, to work together toward one comprehensive, aligned strategic plan that is focused on building hope and success for our students.
In order to acclimate you to your new work home, all new employees experience onboarding in the Human Resources department prior to starting work. You will receive more specific information regarding your onboarding process but here’s a few helpful points:
- Please schedule to visit to our Office of Safety & Security Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 6:00 pm. Please email [email protected] to schedule an appropriate time for fingerprinting.

- In accordance with Board policy, the fee for this criminal records check is the responsibility of the contractor/Intern. Therefore, each individual must bring with a money order or cashier’s check in the amount of $45.00, payable to Atlanta Public Schools as well as an unexpired form of photo identification (i.e. driver’s license, state-issued identification card, Permanent Resident Card, or a US Passport).
- There is no guarantee that Contractors/Volunteers/Interns/Employees will be able to park in the parking deck. However, there are several private-owned parking areas surrounding the CLL. Contractors/Volunteers/Interns/Employees should be prepared to pay to park. Parking and meter rates vary from $2 – $10.
